The Legacy Society

Some gifts make an impact today.  The right gift can leave a lasting legacy for you, your family, and your community. Your gift will also ensure a significant financial foundation for transitioning foster youth who haven’t been able to count on consistent support at any time in their young lives.

In 2010, The Legacy Society of Just in Time for Foster Youth was established to give current and future foster youth the essential community of support necessary to navigate the path to a successful and satisfying future.  Sustaining the crucial combination of resources, training and relationships with caring adults is critical for any young person to become capable, confident, and connected.  That’s the promise your gift helps us to fulfill.

When you join The Legacy Society and make a bequest to Just in Time, your commitment to a charitable gift will live on in productive lives, contributions to the economy, and healthy families that break the cycle of foster care.

What is a Bequest?

A bequest is a section of your will or living trust that directs a gift from your estate to the person or institution of your choice after you die. Bequests may be used to provide gifts of money, real estate, stocks, or even works of art or jewelry.

Sample language for a Specific Bequest

“I give to Just in Time for Foster Youth, a nonprofit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of California, with the Tax ID #20-5448416 and the current business address of PO Box 81292, San Diego, CA 92138, the sum of $ __________ (or substitute in “all of my interest in the following described property”) to be used in furtherance of its exempt charitable purposes.”

For a Residual or Proportional Bequest, substitute in “______percent or all of the residue of my estate.” Contingent bequests can be specified if you wish to name Just in Time for Foster Youth as beneficiary if all other beneficiaries are deceased.
