Basic Needs Resource Navigator

When everything feels urgent, you know how to be calm and steady.

This role supports our young adults through their most pressing moments: housing, food, financial stability, and the times where everything feels like it’s happening at once. You’ll create clear action plans, connect participants to community resources, and build the kind of trust that helps someone keep going.

What you’ll do

  • Provide urgent support around housing, food, finances, and other immediate needs
  • Build clear, actionable plans with each participant
  • Connect people to resources across our community partner network
  • Coordinate referrals across JIT services, including the Mental Wellness Center
  • Facilitate workshops and events alongside other Youth Services coordinators

Who we’re looking for

  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to stay grounded under pressure
  • Strong communicator and good listener
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years relevant experience, and 2+ years working with underserved populations

Preferred

  • Crisis hotline, case management, or similar high-stress support experience
  • Lived foster care experience
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus but not required

Full-time, hourly/non-exempt. Pay range: $23–$28/hour. San Diego, CA
