What does a Grants Manager do?

• Drives revenue from funders who require an application — foundations, corporations, civic and faith groups, and government sources
• Researches opportunities, writes compelling proposals, tracks the money, and reports back on impact

What you’ll work on

• Research & Pipeline — identify and qualify new grant opportunities; manage a multi-year pipeline in Instrumentl
• Writing & Storytelling — draft and submit competitive proposals; translate program data into narratives that move funders
• Funder Relationships — build trust-based, multi-year funder relationships alongside our CEO and leadership
• Budgets & Reporting — partner with Accounting on grant budgets and spend-down; write timely, accurate interim and final reports

What we’re looking for

• 3–5 years managing the full grant lifecycle in the nonprofit sector
• A track record securing five- to six-figure grants across private, corporate, and government funders
• A storyteller who can turn data into a narrative a funder wants to invest in
• Comfortable moving between spreadsheets, funder meetings, and a blank page
• Background in youth development, child welfare, or systems-change work a plus

How it works

Grants Manager reports to the Associate Director of Development. This is a collaborative, cross-functional role — you’ll work closely with Youth Services, Finance, and Executive leadership on every proposal.

The details

Full-time, exempt

Pay: $70,000–$85,000

Primarily office and computer-based; some local travel for funder meetings and site visits
