PRN Staff

When the team needs extra support, you’re ready to step in and get things done.

This flexible, as-needed role supports JIT across warehouse and donation distribution operations, office administration, special projects, community events, and other areas based on organizational need. You’ll receive clear direction for each assignment and bring reliability, professionalism, and care to every interaction with young adults, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.

What you’ll do

  • Move, pack, wrap, load, unload, assemble, and transport furniture, donations, and other materials.
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse, vehicle, equipment, and work areas.
  • Support donation pick-ups, drop-offs, inventory records, and distribution activities.
  • Provide administrative assistance, including filing, data entry, correspondence, reception, and document preparation.
  • Assist with meeting preparation, scheduling, event logistics, outreach activities, and special projects.
  • Support teams across Youth Services, Volunteer Services, Development, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Meet with the assigned supervisor at the start of each engagement to understand priorities and expectations.
  • Communicate proactively, follow directions, and complete assigned work with consistency and care.

Who we’re looking for

  • Dependable and committed to showing up for accepted assignments.
  • Flexible and comfortable moving between different tasks, teams, and work environments
  • Able to listen carefully, ask questions, and follow instructions accurately
  • Warm, respectful, and professional with young adults, colleagues, donors, volunteers, and community members.
  • Comfortable performing physical work and able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable using basic computer and communication tools, including email, phones, and shared drives
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, administrative, customer service, nonprofit, or community-facing role.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Experience supporting events, outreach activities, donation distribution, or special projects
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus but not required

PRN/as-needed, hourly/non-exempt. Pay range: $23–$25/hour. San Diego, CA
