Pathways to Financial Power: Brittany’s Story
by Virgo Villajin
Our new Pathways to Financial Power Coordinator, Brittany has always been passionate about connecting young people to employment opportunities. In a previous position, she facilitated job readiness workshops and played a key role in planning and executing educational conferences and mentorship program development.
Brittany’s passion for helping advance people on their professional journeys is in perfect alignment with our Pathways service. Now she will be leading the charge in assisting our participants by preparing them with the essential skills to be a competitive job applicant and also connecting them with experienced professionals to provide ongoing support
At the Pathways Initial Mixer Brittany was able to meet this year’s Pathways participants that attended the hybrid event. Those in-person enjoyed dinner on connecting in the HUB with socially distanced chairs, while those that attended via zoom were also able to connect and engage virtually.
One Pathways participant, Jamal, is already enjoying the fruits of his professional development and earned a position that he’s thrilled to begin. Jamal starts work at Guild Mortgage on Monday and shared, “I’m so excited to be working there, I’ll be helping them with their front and back end website development.”
Outside of work, Brittany enjoys spending time with her cats, Bentley & Pumpkin. Being born & raised in Buffalo, New York, she also loves to indulge in what she calls Buffalonian Specialties: the Buffalo Bills Football team, Duff’s chicken wings, beef on deck, and sponge candy. She also enjoys volunteering her time, engaging in self-care, and running marathons.
