2021 JIT Shark Tank Winners!
by Rachel Trujillo, JIT Staff
This year’s JIT Shark Tank competition was fierce, with three young entrepreneurs going head-to-head for the grand prize of a $3,000 investment. Our JIT Shark Tank judges — Sylvia Bier, Principal Corporate Counsel at Microsoft; Dr. Jay Lichter, Managing Director at Avalon Ventures and President & CEO of COI Pharmaceuticals; Jerry Morris, Founder & CEO of NextLevel Internet, Inc.; Danitza Villanueva, Co-Publisher of Giving Back Magazine; and Sam Webster, Managing Director at Community First Strategies, LLC — had a tough decision to make, but in the end, Stephen Thomas was our grand prize winner! Stephen’s business idea, Insure+, uses 3D technology to create virtual replicas of properties with an inventory of the belongings inside. These can be used as proof of assets in insurance claims in the case of disasters like fires or floods.
Second place went to Stephany Gomez for her business, SXOBOUTIQUE, an online clothing retailer that embraces the inner and outer beauty of women of all shapes and sizes.
Our third prize was awarded to Margen Dishmon. Her business idea, Rare & Radiant, is a mobile spray tan concept that offers healthy glows infused with skin-healing elements.
At the end of competition, JIT CEO Don Wells was so impressed with the pitches that he doubled the prize money for our second and third place winners, who went home with a $2,000 investment each! We can’t wait to see each of their incredible ideas come to life.
All three of our finalists did a fabulous job! Want to see the pitches but didn’t make it to the Pathways Conference? Check out the video on our YouTube channel!
