Each year, Just in Time’s Pathways to Financial Power Conference brings together more than 100 youth, volunteers, and investors for a day of networking, job sourcing and professional empowerment. This year’s theme was “Your Blueprint to a Brighter Future” which focused on the importance of having a Plan, Preparing with the right resources and relationships, and leveraging relationships to Step-Up.
The morning session kicked off with an inspiring message from long-time JIT Volunteer Guiselle Carreon followed by JIT Alumni Andres Limon who reminded participants to “go for it” and pursue all avenues that interest them. The Career Fair followed with twenty local employers and resources for attendees to explore. During lunch, Brad Lupien, CEO & President of Arc After School & Experiential Education shared that while imposter syndrome is real, it’s important to push through the fear.
JIT’s annual Shark Tank competition was the main event. Competition among the three aspiring entrepreneurs was fierce, each vying for the opportunity to win $3,000 worth of seed money for their fledgling businesses.

Ultimately, it was JIT participant Naliyah Edwards who walked away with the 1st place prize for business “Kick-Start Swim”. Naliyah also won an additional $500 People’s Choice Award!

But that’s not all, $20,000 remains up for grabs. Our three finalists will now go on to work with JIT angel investors to refine their business plans and take one last shot at the jackpot.
