A Peek Inside JIT’s Pathways to Financial Power Conference!
Twenty thousand dollars in seed money remains up for grabs!
Each year, Just in Time’s Pathways to Financial Power Conference brings together more than 100 youth, volunteers, and investors for an afternoon of networking, job sourcing and professional empowerment.

Special highlights from this year’s event included three powerful guest speakers: Christine Moore, Executive Director of External Affairs for AT&T San Diego, JIT Alumni speaker Tiara Reynolds, Program Specialist for County of San Diego Housing Department, and Shawn Forbes, motivational speaker and entrepreneur. All three shared personal stories of resilience related to the impact that foster care had on their lives.
“Today, I run my own salon, volunteer with Just In Time, and work as a Program Specialist for the County of San Diego’s housing department. My drive, ambition, and passion have led me to embrace opportunities with open arms.”
JIT’s Shark Tank competition was the main event. Competition among the three aspiring entrepreneurs was fierce, each vying for the opportunity to win $3,000 worth of seed money for their fledgling businesses.
Ultimately, it was JIT participant Deisha Green who walked away with the 1st place prize for her small business Couture Wigs by Desire!
But that’s not all, $20,000 remains up for grabs. Our three finalists will now go on to work with JIT angel investors to refine their business plans and take one last shot at the jackpot.
