Gearing Up for Summer with Community Partner, Deloitte
Last week, Deloitte brought energy, teamwork, and heart to Just in Time for Foster Youth (JIT) with a true “divide and conquer” Volunteer day!
One group headed to our My First Home distribution center, where they rolled up their sleeves to clean, sort, and take inventory of essential home items.
Summer is one of our busiest seasons for My First Home, and thanks to Deloitte’s efforts, youth arriving for upcoming shopping days will be welcomed by neatly organized shelves filled with everything they need to furnish their first apartments with dignity and ease.
Meanwhile, another team transformed our main HUB into a hub of productivity, assembling thoughtful cleaning kits for our College Bound participants. These kits include everyday essentials for maintaining a clean and healthy living space. These are items that are not always top of mind for young people navigating their first independent living experience.
Among the volunteers was JIT alumni, Michael Rincon-Bonillas. Michael earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting with support from our College Bound and Master Your Dream services. Now, he has come full circle, giving back alongside his colleagues at Deloitte and investing in the next generation of JIT participants!
