Just in Time participant Sky Lowe has a new accomplishment to celebrate: he’s officially a published author.

Sky wrote Prison Journals while incarcerated, using the experience to reflect on the criminal justice system and challenge assumptions about the people caught within it. Sky says 100% of the book revenue will be donated to organizations that support incarcerated folks.

“The heart of the story is survival. I wasn’t sure if I would survive at a few points during the writing of this book, so for this book to be in people’s hands is literally like holding my life,” says Sky.

Since publishing his book, Sky has been busy building his next chapter. With support from JIT, he moved into and furnished a new apartment through My First Home, joined Financial Fitness 103 and built strong connections with coaches and the JIT community. He’s also preparing for electrician trade school and dreams of earning a Ph.D. in psychology.

Now, Prison Journals is available through Barnes & Noble.
