Just in Time is proud to announce the appointment of Jennifer Sanchez as our new Chief Operating Officer. With more than twenty years of executive leadership in youth-serving nonprofit organizations, Sanchez brings a deep understanding of the child welfare system, and a passion for youth empowerment and systems change.
Jennifer began her career as Executive Director of a CASA program in Morgantown, West Virginia before founding Voices of Youth in New York City, an award-winning program supporting youth in and aging out of foster care. Recognizing the need for broader organizational impact, Sanchez went on to spend nearly two decades in executive leadership roles with youth-serving nonprofit organizations. In 2019, she launched Lotus Consulting, LLC, partnering with organizations nationwide to implement sustainable organizational changes and operational improvements.
As Just in Time’s Chief Operating Officer, Jennifer will bring her unique perspective and deep experience to help advance JIT’s growth through expanding our reach, influence, and impact. She is deeply committed to amplifying the youth voice and authentic engagement in all aspects of her work, believing that those with lived experience are the most powerful agents of systemic change.
In addition to her professional achievements, Jennifer is a grief counselor and yoga teacher specializing in trauma-informed approaches and often integrates wellness and mental health perspectives into her professional practice. A mother of three boys, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and maintaining her yoga practice.
We want to give a huge shoutout to Santee Women’s Connection for their support of Just in Time’s My First Home service.
They recently organized a My First Home mini drive within their community. The result? A trove of essential household items, including Cuisenart Baking Sets, Pots, Pans, vaccuums, laundry hampers, pillows – all items that will make a huge difference in the homes of Just in Time youth.
They’re support doesn’t end there – they are currently organizing a food drive for JIT youth.
My First Home mini drives are crucial to our efforts to ensure that, when young adults move into their homes, they are safe and comfortable.
We invite you to host a mini-drive to collect key household items (kitchenware, lamps, toasters, microwaves, vacuums, bedding, cleaning supplies, etc.) to help transition age foster youth set up their first homes! Check our Target Registry to see the items that are needed most!
You may also collect gift cards in all amounts to locations such as Walmart, Target and grocery stores so that JIT can provide Basic Needs/Emergency assistance when young people are facing a critical situation and need an extra boost to get back on their feet.
To host a mini-drive, please contact the My First Home Team at myfirsthome@jitfosteryouth.org or call 619.657.6954.
