Get connected. Stay informed. Join The JIT Network.
Now There’s an app for that
As the JIT community expands, we are excited to announce an innovate way for youth to engage with coaches, volunteers, and each other through our first-ever app. Welcome to The JIT Network!

The JIT Network is a unique platform dedicated to supporting youth who have aged out of foster care – providing easier access to critical resources and introducing them to supportive relationships to empower them on their journey to self-sufficiency. It’s also designed to engage anyone passionate about supporting former foster youth such as volunteers, community partners and investors. Through the app, users can share personal stories and photos to connect with and inspire each other; stay informed about community events and workshops; engage with JIT Staff about services and resources; and connect with hundreds of volunteer coaches with experience in finance, higher education, professional development and more.
Since the app launched in May, The JIT Network has grown to more than 200 members. Members like JIT participant Jeff Chapman, who says the app will help him stay connected even from afar.
Unlike other social media platforms that treat followers as consumers to be used for profit, The JIT Network is customized to engage members as equal partners in the JIT community. It is a place for meaningful and constructive conversation around issues related to the foster care system and those transitioning out of it; grassroots organizing to disrupt and influence outmoded practices within the child welfare system, and a forum to connect youth to resources and help them expand critical networks of support.
“[I will be] able to communicate with participants and coaches that I may not see often, or at all, since we don’t attend the same cohorts, events, etc. I love this idea.”
The JIT Network also provides dedicated space through focused “communities” designed to engage volunteers, and alumni as well as service specific resources for participants actively engaged in JIT cohorts.
In the months and years to come, JIT is working to grow The JIT Network into a national community for former foster youth and their allies.
You can join The JIT Network by searching “The JIT Network” in your smartphone app store and downloading the app.
