What Do You Know About Energetic Intimacy?
Career Horizons Hosts Intimacy Brunch for Coaches and Youth
Energetic Intimacy – what is it and how can we maximize it for wellbeing? Recently, Just in Time’s Career Horizon’s service invited 13 female participants and coaches to the JIT Mission Valley office to find out.
The Energetic Intimacy Brunch created an intentional space for youth and coaches to swap positive energy through intentional shared experience, which is what Energetic Intimacy is all about – investing time and energy into being present with people you care about.
“I loved being able to step away from my regular routine and connect. We took over the JIT Hub, snuggled up and watched a movie that shared the value of women stepping out of their comfort zones to advance their lives and the lives of people around them.”
Hanna, Just in Time Participant

Each detail of the event was carefully planned to enhance feelings of mindfulness and to ground attendees in the moment and to each other. This included a deconstructed Chilaquiles, a Mexican dish that brings together a variety of flavors and ingredients (tortilla chips, eggs, queso fresca, salsa and other toppings) that was served for brunch.
Inviting youth to choose which elements to include in their individual dishes anchored them more firmly to their meal and their choices. As they ate, youth were asked to consider how each ingredient made their body feel.
Intentional conversation was followed by a cozy afternoon spent lounging in bean bags, swathed in fuzzy blankets, eating popcorn and watching the movie “Hidden Figures.”
“I loved being able to step away from my regular routine and connect,” said Hanna, a Career Horizons participant, “We took over the JIT Hub, snuggled up and watched a movie that shared the value of women stepping out of their comfort zones to advance their lives and the lives of people around them.”
In addition to lunch and a movie, participants were gifted copies of the book Radical Intimacy by the book’s author Zoe Kors.
