Sponsoring a Just in Time event or service is an opportunity to demonstrate social responsibility, give back to the community in a significant way, and make personal connections to the youth we serve. We believe in developing mutually beneficial partnerships that are tailored to your philanthropic and corporate objectives.

Walk the Talk Celebration
Walk the Talk is Just in Time’s signature celebration and fundraiser with a focus on connecting and engaging 400+ prominent members of our community to our mission and the young men and women that we serve. At least 75 youth are an integral part of the event, leading the program, performing, networking, and sharing their stories. The evening is festive yet relaxed, featuring gourmet comfort food, engaging and inspirational entertainment related to our mission, and a unique live auction.
PATHWAYS TO FINANCIAL POWER/NEXTjobs
Pathways to Financial Power helps transition age foster youth bring their employment options into focus, increase confidence, build self-sufficiency, and learn the skills needed to become financially secure. Through resume and cover letter building, networking, financial literacy, computer and technology skills, and one-on-one connections with San Diego professionals, youth enhance their personal, professional and financial skills, opening up future opportunities. We also recently added NEXTjobs as a component of Pathways, which helps youth establish an effective path to greater earning power and career confidence. NEXTjobs goes beyond basic job training and readiness, utilizing strategies that address the changing employment ecosystem.

BRIDGES TO SUCCESS FOR YOUNG MEN
Bridges to Success provides a community of support and the tools and resources young men need to thrive. Over a 10-month period, young men boost their personal and professional skills through connections with a network of male leaders, like-minded peers, and the greater Just in Time community. As trust grows in this “environment of success” so does the development of translatable skill sets.
CAREER HORIZONS FOR YOUNG WOMEN
Career Horizons is designed to help young women bring their personal and professional lives into focus. Through workshops, hands-on experiences, mental and emotional wellness support, education, job training, professional attire shopping, connections to an extended community of supporters, and much more, Career Horizons allows every young woman to truly take ownership of her life story and focus on her individual strengths to maximize potential.
CHANGING LANES & AUTO ACCESS
Changing Lanes and Auto Access are collaborative initiatives designed to empower transition age foster youth to become good drivers, purchase reliable transportation, and create a foundation for maintaining responsible vehicle ownership. This expands access to jobs and other life opportunities while building good credit. Components include helping participants obtain their driver’s permits and licenses, buy affordable cars, and obtain insurance at reasonable rates.
BASIC NEEDS/EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
Basic Needs provides critical financial support to transition age foster youth in emergency situations, including rent, food, transportation, clothing, and other assistance. It also immunizes young people against debilitating stress, unhealthy physical habits, and exploitation by providing essential support and connecting them with resources that take them out of survival mode.
MY FIRST HOME
Sponsoring our My First Home service allows Just in Time to continue to transform empty apartments into safe, stable, and supportive places to live with new and gently-used furnishings and home goods from our caring community. This helps the youth we serve establish a fundamental first step toward building a secure future.
RISE TO RESILIENCE
Rise to Resilience (R2R) focuses on learning about and mitigating the effects of toxic stress and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) among JIT participants so they can thrive on the same level as people without a history of toxic stress. Unaddressed, toxic stress can lead to an array of negative health outcomes including obesity, heart disease, anxiety, depression, emphysema, cancer, unintended pregnancies, suicide, and even premature death.
COLLEGE BOUND/LEARNING TO SUCCEED
Since its inception in 2006, the College Bound model for success has continued to have an extraordinary impact on enrollment and graduation outcomes for transition age youth. More than 600 students have received access to essential resources and tools, consistent positive relationships, and critical support for housing, transportation, and emergency assistance during their college years. In fact, recent findings have shown that 80% of our College Bound participants have overcome the odds to achieve their academic dreams versus the 3-6% national average for former foster youth!
MASTER YOUR DREAM GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
Master Your Dream was created when a JIT Board member suggested we support members of the JIT community with aspirations to attend graduate school but without enough financial support and encouragement to put it within reach. In the years since, JIT has offered support to many young people and 100% have shown us our confidence was well placed; they have al either graduated or are still on their path to achieve “mastery” in the years to come! It’s a remarkable achievement and a testament to the extraordinary young people we serve.
NORTH COUNTY DROP-IN CENTER
We’ve teamed up with North County Lifeline to create a warm and welcoming drop-in center that increases access to services and resources for North County foster youth, and homeless and/or at-risk youth and young adults. We also launched a new Guide to Greatness service exclusively for North County participants, which offers critical access to coaches and core elements of JIT services such as Financial Fitness, Career Horizons, and Bridges to Success.
