Nyla talks about the impact Just in Time has had on her journey to self-sufficiency
Recently, Just in Time CEO Don Wells and participant Nyla visited the CBS8 studio to talk about the critical resources and relationships that empower youth, like Nyla, to overcome challenges and reach their goals.
While May is National Foster Care Awareness Month, Just in Time for Foster Youth is committed to ensuring that the youth in our community are supported, encouraged and celebrated all year long.
“It wasn’t until I came to San Diego and got connected to Just in Time that I they really helped me with the resources I needed to be successful. When I worked on my undergrad, they helped me with college books and with my driver’s license and connected me to relationships.”

Nyla, who has participated in almost every Just in Time service, including Financial Fitness, Pathways to Financial Power and College Bound will soon graduate with her Master’s Degree in Education with a focus on trauma informed counseling from San Diego State University.
