Deck the halls and hang the holly – This holiday season, we are incredibly grateful for every single member of our Just in Time community! And what better way to express our gratitude than with a party?
On Saturday, December 7th, Just in Time brought together more than 150 participants, alumni, volunteers, staff and supporters for our annual Just in Time For The Holidays celebration.
Those in attendance engaged in a heated gingerbread house building contest before setting down to a holiday feast with towering plates of smoked ham, mashed potatoes and tamales.
Upcoming events
December 14: My First Home Shopping Day
December 19: Volunteer Welcome
December 25: OFFICE CLOSED for Holiday
Special guests Marc Hoffman and Dave Catalino gave a moving tribute to our beloved community member, Laura Catalino. This year, JIT awarded Laura Catalino Catalyst awards of $1,000 each to:
Karla Miranda Torres: Confident Award
Kierra Jones: Capable Award
Deisha Green: Connected Award
Kory Gonzalez: Conscious Award

“My JIT coach Kristi helped me redefine my purpose and once again provided the encouragement I needed. I began to write a story that could help children identify the signs of abuse by connecting with characters in books.” ~ Karla, Confident Award Winner, aspiring author, Just in Time Participant
Church at Rancho Bernardo donated over 20 beautiful gift baskets that were raffled off to youth in attendance. Every youth at the party was gifted a Santa Bag stuffed with goodies provided by Jennifer Moores’ Family and Friends, and colorful hand-knit scarves donated by Louarn Sorkin’s Creative Yarn Group. Special thanks to Mission Hills United Church of Christ for hosting our Holiday and Thanksgiving parties!
