In recognition of National Mentor Month, Just in Time participant Michael Rincon Bonillas and his College Bound coach Dave Clark joined KUSI in studio to talk about the meaningful connection they’ve forged through the JIT community.
During the interview, Michael recalled how he joined the College Bound service to get a free laptop and printer. He wasn’t looking for a coach.
“I didn’t really think I needed a mentor. I was actually kind of against the idea of a coach. But having the background I didn’t really have a father figure in my household. I didn’t have someone to look up to. But having a good role model ended up being something I benefitted from.”
-Michael Rincon Bonillas
