Mentorship Month at Just in Time
Don and Gia Share the Power of Mentorship on KUSI
Mentorship is not just about advice. It is about expanding a young person’s world, strengthening their confidence, and building networks that help them envision what is possible.
In recognition of National Mentorship Month, Just in Time’s Chief Empowerment Officer, Don Wells, and participant Gia Coronado appeared live on KUSI to highlight how meaningful relationships can change the trajectory of a young person’s life.
“I don’t even have the words to describe what it’s been like having a mentor. I have two mentors I love wholeheartedly — one who’s taught me so much about financial literacy, and another through My Life My Story who’s helped me grow into a young woman,” says Gia.
Gia has been a Just in Time participant since 2024. She was paired with her mentor, Just in Time volunteer Dennis Bell through JITs Financial Fitness (FF) service. In addition to FF, Gia has participated in wellness services at Just in Time, My First Home, which helped furnish her apartment, and College Bound.
