World Mental Health Day, established in 1992, raises awareness, educates and advocates for mental health resources and understanding on a global scale. At Just in Time, we have prioritized mental wellness resources as a basic need for our community.
“Dr. Felitti took what I’ve already been reading and exploring related to ACEs and gave me a deeper perspective. The advice he gave on consistent long-term therapy especially resonated with me. He said, ‘It’s good to see people, over time, changing WITH YOU, and by that recognition, you notice changes in yourself.’ This is something that I want to consider implementing further in JIT’s Rise to Resilience service.”
-Rise to Resilience Youth Services Coordinator Jason Bronicki
At a recent meeting of Rotary Club No. 33 San Diego, Just in Time staff got the chance to meet Dr. Vincent Felitti, a lead researcher in one of the most extensive childhood abuse and neglect investigations to-date: Kaiser Permanente’s Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES).
Just in Time’s Rise to Resilience service is heavily influenced by the groundbreaking insights revealed in the ACEs study.
