WALK THE TALK EMPOWER PARTIES
We look forward to welcoming you to our annual celebration, the Just in Time “Walk the Talk” Empower Parties – full of entertainment, surprises, and inspiration! Hundreds of individuals from throughout San Diego will gather once again to celebrate with our youth participants, creating connections that have proven to be powerful and long-lasting.
In Spring 2022, we will host a minimum of 8 in-person parties of 50-75 guests each and over 20 virtual parties (usually 10-20 guests). Every party includes a youth story, a music video, celebrity cameos, and interaction with Just in Time participants. Sponsors are celebrated and acknowledged at ALL the parties; some sponsors prefer to have a table at an in-person dinner; others prefer to hold a virtual party for a larger number of their staff.
In-person parties typically last 2 hours, and the virtual parties are about 45 minutes. Our guests at the virtual parties tell us the time flies by because they’re having such a good time! An Empower Party can be scheduled for any day or time from April 1-June 30, 2022. Whether in-person or virtual, every guest receives a Gift Bag with a printed program and some special JIT memorabilia.
As you will see in the details below, there is sponsor recognition in the form of signage, videos, the printed program, the JIT web site, and media. Any level of funding is fully tax deductible and will go directly toward the services that have been proven to change lives!
Please join us for this unique opportunity to engage, have fun, and help us change the world….one youth at a time!
THE MISSION
Every year, hundreds of young people leave a System they were placed in because of circumstances beyond their control, too often feeling unsure, unprepared, and disconnected. Is it any wonder that outcomes have been discouraging for youth leaving foster care after 18 without the benefit of an extended family? A crisis like the coronavirus pandemic creates even greater inequities for foster youth who are experiencing anxiety and isolation brought on by disruptions in education, loss of employment and income, and significant food and housing insecurities.
Your support EMPOWERS over 1,500 young people in San Diego, ages 18-26, with the safety net, resources, and relationships that every young adult needs to survive and thrive. This includes emergency basic needs such as food and rent, setting up one’s first apartment, education, employment, transportation, mental health, and all the building blocks essential to becoming Confident, Capable, and Connected.
