After two decades of measurable impact, our transformative model for relationship-based services and resources, led by and for youth with lived experience in foster care, is the key to creating lasting impact for transition age foster youths throughout the United States. Which is why we are “scaling by sharing” our proven theory of change with like-minded organizations to create a “100K Community” within 10 years.
And we are expanding our impact nationally using three “scaling by sharing” options to replicate the JIT model in ways that best fit and enhance the existing focus of those who share our mission.
… means helping others understand and adopt JIT’s mental model: community-based, individualized youth-centered and lived experience-driven services and resources. By building awareness, gaining access to decision makers, and creating foster care focused networks, we’ll fuel a fundamental shift away from ineffective paradigms that have yielded disappointing results.
… means sharing JIT knowledge and practices, hands-on consulting, and resources to organizations who want to accelerate their measurable impact, develop sustainable finances, maximize staff/culture, and create a strong infrastructure and compelling marketing messages. The goal is a comprehensive, ecosystem of reliable support.
… means sharing specific JIT services for targeted application, such as Financial Fitness, Rise to Resilience, College Bound and JIT’s Coach Approach. It allows us to work with organizations on a specific focus area that can be enhanced by our community model.
For 20 years, Just in Time has challenged the “systems based model” of foster care with support to transition age youth to become Confident, Capable, and Connected.
Now, we’ve begun a crucial nationwide conversation with a book co-authored by experts with lived experience in foster care.
You’ll want to read this book if you care about improving outcomes for children and young adults leaving foster care.
