A rise in abuse cases in San Diego County has led to a spike in teenagers entering foster care. With a shortage of foster homes, teenagers placed at Polinsky Children’s Center has reached a five-year high. CBS 8 reporter Carlo Cecchetto visited the Just in Time Mission Valley office to chat with JIT’s Chief Advocacy & Community Empowerment Officer, Simone Hidds-Monroe to gain insight on challenges that teens and transition age foster youth face after they are introduced to the child welfare system.
