What wonderful news to share about Kevin Caulfield!

Kevin, a former Just in Time for Foster Youth participant, produced this short film about challenges he faced before entering foster care with his younger brother. This film is part of his application to attend USC for Film and TV Production — a dream he has been chasing for many years, with Just in Time’s encouragement and support.

“It’s amazing to be making something productive out of the negative experiences I’ve had.” – Kevin Caulfield

Kevin’s journey into filmmaking was sparked when Just in Time helped him purchase a laptop to pursue that dream. The following year, Kevin won a student Emmy award for a Public Service Announcement he produced for class! It was onward and upward ever since for Kevin.

Now, I’m graduating from MiraCosta on the President’s Permanent Honor Roll. I’m starting to think that maybe USC isn’t just a dream anymore. So, I’ve decided to apply earlier than I intended. As part of my application process, I made a short film about the challenges my younger brother and I experienced before we were placed in foster care. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for your help. I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish all I have without your assistance.” -Kevin F Caulfield Jr.
