The Del Mar Highlands Town Center held a Grand Opening of the Sky Deck on June 15, 2021. Coinciding with the post-pandemic Grand Opening of California, the event drew 500 guests from all areas of San Diego. Early on, then-CEO of the parent company Donahue Schriber Realty Group, Pat Donahue, was committed to leveraging this momentous occasion to benefit the San Diego community and its young people.
Nearly $1,000,000 was raised through the Sky Deck campaign to benefit Just in Time for Foster Youth and its collaborative partner, Junior Achievement of San Diego. DSRG has a history of raising significant funds to assist foster youth in Orange County and was committed to having a similar impact in San Diego.
Del Mar Highlands Town Center manager Tim Sullivan and marketing exec Pam Aguirre produced the event, where guests were treated to specialty cocktails and a beer garden, as well as gourmet appetizers and desserts. JIT CEO Don Wells was speaking on KUSI broadcasts throughout the evening, and all guests were in awe of the extraordinary, magical venue.
